Omaha Poker – Playable And Unplayable – Position

Position in poker is a main strategy for winning the game. If it is Omaha high then the position does not play a vital role as if in Omaha pot-limit. Position and bluffing may get you a whole pot winning in pot-limit Omaha and Texas Holdem but in Omaha high it can give you an added advantage.
In starting hands which is much important in Omaha for the further play there are only two groups – playable and unplayable. Omaha poker is also a famous variant of poker games which is said to be much older than texas holdem. But the basic strategies of both the games are more or less similar and hence understanding the game will become easier for those who know holdem games than a fresher.

This is because we have a wider range of starting hands due to the additional cards and the different combinations the players can make. Since Omaha and Omaha Hi Lo use four hole cards and the eventual aim is o win the high as well a the low pot, it is essential to understand the starting hand requirements.
